October 12 - Off.....October 19 ON!

Well, we've gotten off to a slow start this fall but whenever I take a hiatus that usually happens.  I can't be there to run basketball this week (October 12) so we will be shooting for next week (October 19, 7:15 p.m.).  Put it on your calendar and remind your friends.  Let's have a good turn out that night.  It would help if you sent me a text and let me know you're coming.  Peace.  -Ed

October 5 - Hello? Is this thing on?

Wanted to play tonight but only three guys committed. Every other regular player is out of town, working, at the game, celebrating anniversaries, etc. we can still play but you need to call or text me before 6:30.  Otherwise, we are off tonight. -Ed

September 28! Cancelled Postponed

I have just returned from my extended sabbatical.  So it's time to play ball.  But I couldn't get enough to commit for tonight so we are postponing until (hopefully) next week.  Check back for updates. -Ed

Break Time - On Hiatus

Most already know but we are going on hiatus until late September/early October.  In others words, no basketball for a while.  I hope to get us back going September 28 but I will have just gotten home from traveling abroad so don't know how I'll feel.  When we do resume, we will return to our later start time of 7:00 p.m.  We may even start a little later than that (Maybe 7:15) to allow for the small groups that are being held in the surrounding classrooms to dismiss and clear out.  It would also allow those of you watching the late afternoon football games to hopefully see the end of those games.

I'm going to miss seeing you guys.  I have grown very fond of our band of ballers.  Seeing you all every Sunday and taking you to school is one of the highlights of my week......lol (actually I am very thankful that you all are willing to play with an old guy like me).  Staying physically fit is very important to me and being able to still play this game I love with a group of good guys is a great way of doing that.  Look forward to seeing you in about 7 weeks!  -Ed

July 13 Not Sure...Stay Tuned

Not sure if we'll be able to do basketball this week or not.  I will be coming home that afternoon but I may not get back in time.  If we do have it, I may start at 7:00 p.m.  It's really up in the air.  Check back here as I will update the status when I have a better idea of what's going on.  It may be as late as Sunday afternoon before I know.  I'll do my best to give everyone a heads up.  Peace.  -Ed

A number of people have said they will be away this weekend.  So couple that with Charlie preparing for a weeklong youth event at the church and it's probably a good idea that we cancel basketball this week.  I will do my best to get us going again next weekend (July 13).  Hope you all have a great holiday weekend.  Peace....-Ed

June 15 - Father's Day

This week is Father's Day.  You may be doing something with your dad or you may be a dad and hanging with your children.  If that's the case, enjoy!  But for those of you who are free, I will be opening the gym as usual.  Don't forget our new start time of 6:00 p.m.  -Ed

Playing ball at 6 p.m.  Had a great turnout this past Sunday.  Make sure you are there early.  I am cutting off the play list after the first 15 players.  Guys that come in after that will have to wait until someone leaves or needs a sub to get in the playing rotation.  Hate doing it that way but I don't want to make so many guys wait for two games to play. Memorial Weekend Run (Update)

So I am back in town.  We have permission to play ball this Sunday but the kicker is.....we would have to set the chairs back up after we play.  So it's a lot of work but hopefully we will have a few people help me out and it won't be hard. Please let me know if you are interested in playing. If we don't get commitments early we may cancel anyway.  My contact info is on the blog page.  -Ed
